The Women's ministries at the Rainsville Church of God have been active since the ground breaking ceremony in 1966. They operated under the heading of Willing Workers, Women's Fellowship and lastly, Women's Ministries. Sister Eula Taylor headed the ministry for many, many years selling chicken dinners, donuts, and peanut brittle. They helped to pay the bills of the church and parsonage.
In the early 80's, the Women's Ministry took on a new role at the RCOG. RCOG Women's Ministries mother many ministries such as: children's ministries, food pantry, clothes closet, funeral needs, benevolence needs, youth, missions, fun events, seminars, retreats, fund raisers, and bible studies. We support our state and general women's ministries programs through fund raisers, such as soup kitchens.
In September of 2006, we re-organized by committees and chairpersons for each job description. Each chairperson works with their committee to plan and carry out their tasks. One-two months prior to the event, they will meet with the Women's Ministry Board is made up of each committee chairperson and the Children's and Women's Ministries Co-coordinator and two added advisors. The reporting is done by the church secretary.
We have many strong women of God. They have been tried through fire. They have proven themselves to be faithful Women of God. I am so proud of them.
