Director: Christie Blanchett
Are you INTENSELY devoted to God? If so, you should think about becoming involved in the RCOG drama team, Fervent. There is no age limit. We perform twice per month in Youth church and once every other month in Sunday evening service.
Our team LOVES God, and we love to minister to people. We seek God’s anointing for each performance so that lives might be changed. If you have never seen our drama team perform, then you definitely should come out and watch Fervent in action. The passion that is ignited through this Holy Ghost filled group is bound to impact your personal walk for the Lord. Come out and see for yourself, and you will want to bring a friend.
What is drama?
Drama is a unique form of ministry that requires a lot of passion and practice. One definition of drama is: a dramatic work intended for performance by actors on a stage. Our dramas can be much like regular dramas, only with an extra message. Like other ministries such as music, drama can be a very effective tool to not only touch lives, but also to get people involved with ministry. Our drama team does a variety of genres or styles including skits, human videos, pantomimes, and mimes.
- Skit A short, often comic dramatic performance. This type of drama is unique in that it is not based on music like most others.
- Human Video A combination of a skit and pantomime. This type of drama is performed with music, and is often more serious than a skit. Human videos can be viewed much like a music video. A story is being told through the skit-like actions in relation with the song choice.
- Pantomime Communication by means of gesture and facial expression. The telling of a story without words, by means of bodily movements, gestures, and facial expressions. This type of drama often uses real sign language as well as modified sign language to go along with a song.
- Mime A performance using gestures and body movements without words. This type of drama is very similar to pantomimes, but are usually more comical.
